i think the ducks are wonderful.i used to live in plantation apts and never had a problem with the ducks as a matter of fact used to go over to the pond and fed them bread.just let them be.

What an embarrassment. Finally when things like River street festivities seem to be going in the right direction... This happens! In my opinion, if the Clydesdales don't come back the parade will never have the Shine it once did in my mind. The parade committee needs to answer all questions that have been raised and get to the bottom of this.

My mom called me and told me about this and said I just HAD to read it. Ashley, that's probably one of the most beautiful things I've ever read :) You and Nick are going to be wonderful parents.

The parade committee needs to get there IRISH ASSES together on ST PATTIES DAY. I saw more than my share of Fife and drum corps. If the Irish Drunks think about more than the other Irish people this would not have happened. A POLISH/IRISH AMERICAM

This is not only a shame its an embrassment to the City of Savannah. I think the parade sponsor should issue and complete statemnet along with a formal apology and pay for the travel and handling expenses. Then make certain that those parties involved find other duties so our city doesn't get another blackeye. City officals should get involved as well because of the number of visiting people that missed an important part of the celebration.

I think that the committee member who told the Clydesdales handler there was "no room" for the Clydesdales should be told there's no room for that committee member in future parades. For a three semi-truck caravan to come to our parade, no small feat in itself, and be turned away is inexcusable. The parade committee knows how many floats, bands, groups, etc. will be in the parade-and then to suddenly decide there's "no room", poor planning on the parade organizers part.

It's a shame this happened - I love seeing the Clydesdales! I hope they'll reconsider and return next year.
