(Savannah, GA)- If you haven't yet figured out how you're going to celebrate Independence Day, there are many options.
Tonight, Tybee Island kicks off the celebrations. The fireworks begin around 9:00 p.m. from the Walter Parker pier and pavilion at the south end of the island.
Saturday, the Fort Morris State Historic Site is hosting its annual Independence Day "Colonial Faire" from 11 o'clock in the morning until 3:00 p.m.
Fort Morris is 7 miles east of Interstate 95 in Midway.
Other state parks in the area are holding July 4th events including Fort McAllister in Richmond Hill and Fort King George in Darien. Cannon salutes will be fired across the marsh in Darien.
In historic downtown Savannah, River Street will host it's annual July 4th fireworks. The "ka-booms" start at 9:20 p.m.
In Richmond Hill Saturday it's the Old Time Family Festival & BBQ. The place is the J.F. Gregory Park. Food & the family events will be ready at 2:00 p.m. The fireworks start at dusk.
In the Lowcountry, The Sands in Port Royal and Parris Island will present a duel fireworks display. Festivities start at 7:00 p.m. with the show around dusk.
