It’s always nice to find young people making good news.
TCS’s President and General Manager Lynn Fairbanks recently sat down with a member of the Savannah Children’s Choir to talk about the organization, which was performing for young hospital patients at Backus.
Lynn Fairbanks: What are you doing at Backus Children’s Hospital?
Hannah: There’s a group called Songs for Kids Foundation, and we go from room to room singing for children who are very ill. And it makes them very, very happy.
LF: How often do you perform here?
H: I do it usually once a month.
LF: How does it make you feel to perform here at the hospital?
H: It brings them joy and happiness because they’ve been stuck in their room for weeks, even months … It makes me feel very that all these kids get to hear this wonderful music.
LF: How long have you been involved with Songs for Kids?
H: Three years
LF: What are some of the other things that Songs for Kids are involved in?
H: The go on trips. Like this summer, we’re going to Chicago for music celebrations, and we get to meet this famous conductor, which is very cool. And all the other choirs from, like, even Germany or anything, they all come, and it’s just one big choir.
