For the last few months we’ve been collecting supplies for Haiti. This is kind of the last of our mission, which is to get it to a place which can then get it on a container to go to Haiti.
I spoke with Michael Sullivan about our station and all of our people and what we’ve been able to do over the past few weeks.
We’ve gone through a number of weeks of collecting things from people all over this area and now we’re just about to send it off to Haiti.
“What’s amazing about it too,” shares Michael, “is the timing on it. The whole HIMM group that we’ve been working with leaves tonight. Reverend Hebron leaves tonight. Our stuff is ready. We’re all in synch.”
We’ve had a real station event. We’ve had a lot of people from various departments in the station, including Jesse and Casey and Jenifer and Jeff and Frank and all of the people on air, who have been willing to help. They’re all willing to heft boxes and certainly a lot of water.
“I think a station event really is the theme of this,” reveals Michael. “Talking to folks around the station and people that brought goods to us to take over all had the same kind of spirit. I think that’s the wonderment of this whole deal.”
We appreciate everything the people of Savannah and this entire area have done for this drive. I know the people of Haiti will be very appreciative of all the things that will get to them in a very short period of time.
