Teen speaks out against the death penalty.
(SAVANNAH, GA) As Troy Davis continues to sit on death row for the murder of Savannah Police Officer Mark MacPhail more than 20 years ago, his nephew travels the world, speaking out against the death penalty.

At just 15-years-old, he’s been to places most will never see and spoken to world leaders most will never meet.

Antone Davis-Correia was 13-years-old when he learned his uncle was on death row for murder, “I just went silent. I really didn’t know what it was, or how the place was, how it could affect me or him,” he said.

Now 15-years-old, the teen is far from quiet, campaigning on behalf of Troy Anthony Davis. He’s appeared on CNN, Black Entertainment Television (BET), and more recently visited the British Parliament. Davis-Correia said, “I think it’s just a blessing from God that he gave me the ability to be able to speak in front of large crowds.”

Meanwhile Mark MacPhail Jr., the son of Officer Mark MacPhail, whom Troy Davis is convicted of murdering, is just beginning his campaign to keep Troy Davis from seeing a new trial. He spoke out for the first time on a local level last August.

The two young men now face tough issues dealing with life and death 20 years after MacPhail was gunned down in Savannah; it’s a job that didn’t always come easy to sophomore in high school Davis-Correia, “People would come at me and say ‘You have to do it this way,’ then my mom would say ‘No, you have to do it this way’ then somebody would say ‘No, do it this way, do that way, do this way,” the 13-year-old said. However, Antone Davis-Correia found his own rhythm and the invitations to speak continue to roll in.

He is expected to speak before the World Congress in Geneva Switzerland and also spends time speaking to other students like himself, “Telling people the important of being in the right place at the right time, picking your friends wisely,” are just some of the topics he enjoys talking about with his peers.

Campaigning to keep his uncle alive is a challenge the teen wishes he didn’t have to face, yet one he’s decided to face head on.

To Troy's family, my deepest heartfelt condolences. Though Troy is gone from this earth, he will live on and one day, our God will set this thing right. To Antone, you are the epitome of what every young man should be. Depite that your loving, courageous, and tireless efforts did not yield the right result and your beloved Uncle was unfairly taken from you, don't give up the fight to clear his name or your fight against the death penalty. It is important because as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said in his 1963 speech from the Birmingham Jail: "Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere". Therefore, we must keeping speaking up and out against what we know and believe in our hearts through our faith in God to be wrong, oppressive, and that which denies us the basic rights to freedom, fairness, and equality granted to us by our Lord and Savior and guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. I join your fight for "We Are All Troy Davis". Lastly, this is an awesome website that I found while doing other research. It should continue and expand. It is a wonderful testament of the love and respect that Troy's family, friends, and people he never met had for him and him for them. May God bless each of you an give you peace and comfort knowing Troy is safe in His arms. Sincerely, Norma J. Rogers (New Jersey)

I just found this website by chance. I have been following Troy's case for maybe 5 years. I think Antone is doing a wonderful job. As the mother of 3 grown children and grandmother to 2, I would be very proud of Antone if he were mine. These other 2 terrible comments below from 2010 should be erased. Those writers should be ashamed of their comments. How could they say anything negative about Troy who has never been proven 100% guilty and there is no evidence to back the accusation up and 7 of 9 witnesses have recanted their testimony. People from all over the world are watching Troy and he deserves to be a free man today. Good luck to you, Antone. Mark is old enough to read and understand the facts and see who the real guilty man is. He should want to be bring the guilty person to face his crime and not Troy.

First, Mark, Jr had spoken out before August. It was just not on the scale as the Davis camp because he and his family wanted to give the justice system to do its job. Second, the Macphail family does not have a spokesperson or a national group with a big publicity machine behind them. Third, Davis' nephew is lucky for the las 30 years he has had an uncle to give him advice while Mark, jr doesn't have the privedge of knowing his father.

Maybe he can give his uncles Eulogy when they finally fry him.. Don’t even waste our time reporting on this little jackass that is being used as a pawn... Who is funding this kids trips? My guess some Liberal Organization that will leave him high and dry once they execute his uncle. Give me a break.
