A Day on the Go with The Big Guy by Frank Sulkowski

Just another day in the sports world.

It’s been a busy day here in the Coastal Empire.  My day started at 5:30 a.m.  Gave my little Abbie Grace a bottle and got her dressed for daycare.  Soon after I was on the road for Statesboro.

The Georgia Southern football team got back onto the practice field after taking a week off for spring break.  Got my video and interviews by 10:30 a.m.  Got in the car and made the short drive over to J.I Clements to interview Georgia Southern baseball coach Rodney Hennon.  After a quick lunch at some chicken place…it was back to Savannah.

I arrived at Armstrong Atlantic at 1:45 p.m. for the presentation of the Ashley Dearing Award.  Can’t slow down now…my day is just beginning!  From the Southside I make my way to Savannah State for a little baseball.  The Tigers were taking on Air Force.  Got my highlights and after about seven hours on the job I finally showed up at the station, but not for long.

I write a couple scripts and edit some video and then it’s right back out the door for Savannah Country Day soccer.  After getting a couple goals, I head back to the station to anchor the 6 p.m. news.  When the news is done, I head back out the door to grab even more soccer.  When all is said and done,  The Big Guy will log about 16 hours on the job today…but you know what, it’s worth it.

I get to cover local athletes.  My days are never the same…..I love my job and I hope it shows!
