Frank Sulkowski became Sports Director at WJCL/Fox 28 in January 2006. Viewers in the Coastal Empire and Low Country call him “The Big Guy”. Frank has spent a majority of his life right here in the Peach State covering every type of sport there is.
Before coming to Savannah, Frank worked as a Sports Director and Sports Anchor in Albany, Macon, Atlanta and Statesboro. His passion is local sports. Telling the stories of athletes right here in our own backyard. His dedication to covering local athletes has gained him plenty of recognition. Frank was named “Outstanding Broadcasting Alumni” at Georgia Southern University. He was also recognized by Special Olympics Georgia for his outstanding coverage of Special Olympics.
Frank comes from a sporting family. He’s the oldest of three brothers. His two younger siblings currently coach college football. Frank was a three sport athlete at Tift County High School in Tifton, Ga. He played college football at East Tennessee State University. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in the Summer of 2007 with a degree in Broadcasting.
In December 2006, the Big Guy married his wife Lori in Forsyth Park here in Savannah. The couple welcomed their first child in November 2007. In his free time, Frank enjoys playing golf, doing yard work, and spending time with family and friends.
