Jeff Kirk joined WJCL and FOX 28 as Chief Meteorologist in June of 2000. Prior to that, he served 4 years as Meteorologist for WBTW-TV in Florence/Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jeff received a Bachelor’s Degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, in 1994. He holds the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Jeff looks forward to continuing to serve the Coastal Empire and Low Country as a Meteorologist. He has extensive experience in forecasting the tracks of hurricanes. Some of the big storms he has covered include Floyd, Charley, Frances, and Jeanne.
Jeff is known for his accuracy and hopes his years of experience in forecasting all types of weather will benefit everyone in the viewing area as they plan outdoor activities.
Jeff, his wife Susan, and his son Thomas enjoy living in Savannah. When he is not at work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, watching sports and traveling. Feel free to contact Jeff at jkirk@wjcl.com.
