UPDATED: (Savannah, GA)- Police have released the identity of the pedestrian who was struck by a pick-up truck and killed in Savannah Monday night.
Shane Price, 40, died while trying to cross eight lanes of traffic outside of a crosswalk, said authorities.
Police responded to the call of a pedestrian hit around 10:40 p.m. Monday.
Investigators combed Abercorn Street near Science Drive/Middleground Road by Armstrong Atlantic State University collecting data and evidence.
"A Dodge truck was traveling northbound on Abercorn St. in the far right lane, when a white male ran across Abercorn St. without using a crosswalk, into the path of the vehicle," said Ofc. Gena Moore with SCMPD.
According to Moore, Price was unresponsive when officers arrived.
Price moved from New York to Savannah approximately one month ago, said Moore.
