Registration  for 'open call' is on-site, no pre-registration required. Must be between the ages of 16 & 28 years old.

All auditions will take place at Savannah Mall, lower level, across from Hill of Beans coffee shop. Follow the signs.

The cut off time for performances is 1:55 p.m., you need to be registered and perform by 2:00 p.m. to be eligible.

Doors close at 2:00p.m., we will not accept any performances past 2:00p.m.

CONTEST RULES FOR: FOX 28’s Coastal Idol
 
 
1.         Open Call for performers to take place on Saturday July 26, 2008 from 10am until 2pm.  Performers will receive sixty seconds to perform a cappella in front of judges.  Performers will be scored based on vocal skill, personality and stage presence.  From the open call, the judges will narrow down to ten finalists who will compete Ten finalists will be notified by phone. 

2.         You must be able to prove at the time of your registration and audition that:   You are a legal U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. resident who is eligible to work full-time in the United States.  You are 16 to 28 years old on July 15, 2008 (which means you must be born on or between July 16, 1979 and July 15, 1992). If you were born before or after this window, you are not eligible to participate this season.  Winner must provide proof of eligibility with a valid photo ID.  If under 18 years of age, contestant must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. In the event of ineligibility, the contestant forfeits his/her performance.  WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com retains the right to change the rules and/or execution of said contest at any time during the contest and/or cancel the contest in whole or in part.

 
3.       Employees of New Vision Television LLC Savannah, ABC Broadcasting network, Parkin Broadcasting, FOX Broadcasting Network, associated advertising agencies and their immediate families, as well as employees of participating radio and television stations and their immediate families and cohabiting significant others are not eligible to win.
 

4.       No purchase necessary to participate. WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com disclaims any representation or warranty regarding the quality, fitness, safety or reliability of non cash prizes.  Rules may be obtained by visiting WJCL/FOX 28 during business hours or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WJCL/FOX 28 at 10001 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31406.  This contest is void where prohibited by law, and is subject to all state, federal and local tax regulations.
 

5.       WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com reserves the right to use all contestants’ voice, picture or other likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation.  The station is not liable for any slander, personal and/or physical and/or emotional injury resulting from such publicity. Only one qualified contestant shall be eligible to win

7.       Prizes may have been furnished for promotional or advertising consideration.  Prizes may not be substituted or exchanged for other prizes or cash.  All prizes are non-transferable.  Prize-winner must accept the prize announced without modification or substitution.  All taxes and associated fees are the responsibility of the winner.  WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value in the event an announced prize becomes unavailable. WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com’s decision regarding interpretation of rules, the way the contest is conducted and the way the prize winner(s) is selected is final and binding in all respects.
 

8.    One performer will be selected as FOX 28’s Coastal Idol and will receive a guaranteed audition in front of American Idol producers in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday August 13th, 2008. 

9.      It is the responsibility of the grand-prize winner to cooperate with set forth guidelines to attend the audition.  WJCL/FOX 28, TheCoastalSource.com and its promotional partners are not responsible for winner’s ability to adhere to set for the guidelines, nor any acts of God public enemies, war, civil disorder, fire, flood, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, volcano, tidal wave, explosion, labor disputes or strikes, and any acts by any governmental authority that prevent a winner from cooperating with the guidelines to receive the guaranteed audition.

10.        In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the audition ticket portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefore.
