(Savannah, GA)- Tuesday, a collision on Dean Forest Road involving a tractor trailer and two small pickup trucks impeded lunchtime traffic and sent three people to the hospital.
Authorities with the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police (SCMPD) have not yet confirmed if wet roadways contributed to the driver of a tractor trailer crashing into a Ford Ranger pickup truck late Thursday morning.
"The accident left one person in critical condition," said Ofc. Gena Moore, SCMPD public information officer.
Police detailed the accident in a release to the media. "The driver of the tractor trailer was traveling south on Dean Forest Rd. when he struck a Ford Ranger traveling east into the intersection at Davidson Street. The two vehicles then struck a third vehicle, a Ford Sport Trac that was in the center turn lane preparing to turn left," wrote Moore.
SCMPD said the driver of the Ford Ranger, Pat Jackson was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the same truck was also taken to the hospital with what police called "serious injuries."
None of the occupants of the Ford Sport Trac were injured.
Police told The Coastal Source that investigators are still reviewing the accident.
