Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and as families begin preparing for the annual holiday feast, stores are cutting prices to accommodate the decidedly busier kitchens and fuller tables.

With the average cost to feed a family for Thanksgiving around $40, costs can sure add up. You just need to know where to look to save some green.

Shopper Mildred Cooley was out bargain-hunting on Monday. She and her husband are hosting around 35 people for Thanksgiving, and she was satisfied with the deals she found at Kroger.
“Oh, it was good. We got a 16-pound turkey for, oh let's see, for about 99 cents a pound, so yeah, it was really good,” said Cooley.

If time isn’t on your side, The Fresh Market can help you out.

“We have a traditional holiday dinner for $79.95. It has a whole cooked turkey. We know that people are really busy these days and don't have a lot of time to put stuff together, so it has a turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls. A great deal, feeds about six to eight people," said store manager Bryan Combs.

If you’re looking for some free side items, Publix is offering buy one get one free mashed potato mix, and you can get one can of cranberry sauce free when you buy another at Food Lion.
