(Savannah, GA) – Students at Johnson High School were all smiles this afternoon when they were treated to ice cream.

Blue Bell provided the entire student body at the high school with an ice cream party.

The party was held to celebrate Teacher of the Year finalist Bettina Polite Tate.

Tate teaches marketing and was named one of the ten finalists for the state of Georgia.

"I was shocked, surprised, and again honored because from what I understand, I am one of the first from our district to make it to the state level and I am the first marketing teacher,” says Tate.

The winner of the statewide competition will be announced in May and will represent Georgia in the 2011 National Teacher of the Year Competition.
