PETA PROTESTOR AT BULL AND BRYAN (Era Langford)
(SAVANNAH, GA)- PETA claimed the street corner of Bull St. and Bryan St. in protest on Monday. PETA said the goal of the protest was to get citizens to boycott circuses with animals.

PETA came to Savannah following the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus, which will be at the Savannah Civic Center January 29 thru February 1. Olivia Mora, a ten year PETA volunteer, stripped down to her underwear exposing fabricated scars and bruises like the ones the PETA said circus elephants receive.

Mora said, "I am here to expose what the circus is desperate to hide from the public." Drivers and pedestrians who stopped were told about the animal abuse, as well as being given fliers. The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Center for Elephant Conservation website said the corporate vision is, "to assure the present and future well-being of the endangered Asian elephant species."

As part of the Center for Elephant Conservation, Ringling Brothers established the international conference on tuberculosis in elephants. PETA spokesperson Viriginia Fort said the group is not against all circuses, just ones harmful to animals.
