Georgia coach David Perno earned a raise and a five-year contract after leading the Bulldogs to the Southeastern
Conference regular-season championship and a runner-up finish in the College World Series.
   

Georgia athletic director Damon Evans announced the five-year, $2.25 million deal today after Perno coached the Bulldogs to their third College World Series appearance in the last five seasons. Evans said he hopes Perno "will continue to build upon the
tremendous success our baseball program has enjoyed under his guidance."
   

 Perno will earn $450,000 per season over the next five years, a raise of about $150,000 per year. The contract extends through the 2013 season.  Perno is one of only 12 coaches to lead three teams to the College World Series in their first seven seasons as a head coach.
   

Perno was named 2004 National Coach of the Year by Baseball America and College Baseball Insider after Georgia shared the SEC championship and finished third at the CWS.
