When attending an average football game you expect to see the band, cheerleaders, flags, and of course football players, but what separates Windsor Forest High School games from the rest are the Chatelaines.
So who are these girls waving white gloves and smiling from the stands? The Chatelaines are a unique contribution to not only WFHS, but also to the community. They provide a safe haven for girls to get together, practice, have fun, and to entertain.
To get a better feel for the Chatelaines we, the Knight Writers, went straight to the source, Jaquaysha Suggs, captain of the Chatelaines. She describes the Chatelaines as the “ladies of the castle.” She also describes how Chatelaines take the task of being role models for other girls in the school and what it takes to make the team: determination and stamina.
So what really is a Chatelaine? Someone classy and strong-willed, or a girl with leadership values and a passionate school spirit? You make the call, but the Chatelaines add that special something that make WFHS truly the home of the knights.
